The Boys Explore Dance Outreach program allows boys ages 5-10 to experience ballet for 15 weeks through a weekly class and rehearsal period.
Similar to our typical Dance class, this one is just for the guys. We will use games and adventurous stories to focus their high energy and teach them about moving and rhythm, while allowing them to use their creativity and explore teamwork. During this time, they will experience basic dance instruction and choreography taught by a male instructor. To celebrate their hard work, they will perform in the classical ballet, The Nutcracker, to show off what they have learned.
Each December Children's Dance Theater Foundation in partnership with Children's Dance Theater presents a truly amazing production of the most loved ballet! Your son has the opportunity to be a part of the holiday magic in a role crafted just for the guys. The Calvery is a new role in the battle scene. With the help of the soldiers, the Calvary gallop around stage on "horses" and defeat the Mouse King and his army of mice. It is our goal to have 12 gentlemen in our Boys only class that will work with the wonderful Mario Manansala, to learn the choreography that helps save Clara. The group of 12 will be split into two cast. Cast A and Cast B. While we cannot guarantee what cast your son will be in, please let us know if you have any specific needs.
