Hunter Singers is a highly-acclaimed choir for high school students in the Hunter region. Formed in 1989, the choir performs significant contemporary and traditional works from the choral repertoire, with performances at local and state venues, including the Sydney Town Hall. Young singers are taught to read music, blend and sing in tune, and participate in high-level ensemble experiences. Hunter Trebles are a vibrant group of young children who love to sing, drawn from local primary schools in years 3-6. Their talents and confidence in performing are nurtured in a fun, supportive environment, with performances including massed choirs in the Sydney Opera House and with the Opera Australia Children's Chorus. The Trebles enjoy singing a wide range of musical styles, from traditional folk songs and lullabies, musical theatre and contemporary music from Australia’s leading choral composers. Choir rehearsals feature musical games, musicianship, part-singing and music reading, led by conductor Evan Booth.
