Web-Based Mentorship Program
My name is Flora Sayson, I am a Registered Nurse and a Nurse Educator. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at the University of Nevada, Reno. I have conducted a web-based mentorship program for Filipino nurses with less than five years of Nevada nursing experience as part of my doctoral studies in partnership with the Philippine Nurses Association of Nevada. With the successful pilot study I would like to implement it with the objective of helping our new nurses in Nevada decrease their stress and anxiety.
For many new graduate nurses, transition in the Nevada healthcare setting is complex, challenging, stressful, and intimidating. PNANV will utilize the web-based mentorship program with the hope of reducing stress and anxiety of our colleagues.
If you volunteer in the mentorship program, you will be asked to participate in a ten-week web-based mentorship program wherein you will have an opportunity to talk to a mentor/mentee.
Your participation should take about thirty to sixty minutes per week starting on the week of September 27, 2021 to the week of November 29, 2021.
This program is similar in type or intensity to what you encounter during your daily activities. You may experience sharing stories of your nursing work. Your name and information will be kept confidential to the PNANV organization only.
Please don't hesitate to ask questions. Our Mentorship Committee (Sub-committee of the Communications Committee) will be happy to assist you.
Your participation in this program is completely voluntary. You may stop at any time. Declining to participate or stopping your participation will not have any negative effects on your work. Please email
flora.sayson@gmail.com or
johara.aparece@gmail.com for any questions.
We look forward to your meaningful web-based mentorship experience.
Thank you for your participation,
Flora Sayson, DNP, MS, RN
