We're looking for volunteers to pitch in over the summer on some projects meant to quickly and materially improve the culture of racial inclusion at LHCS and support what the school and community is already doing.
This is now a permanent ongoing initiative of Site Council, but everyone is welcome to join. We want to hear your voice!
To start we've established 3 teams to address the below topics. Each team will meet ASAP and work over the summer to deliver projects as the next school year starts.
Teams:
1) Parent-facing resources: Simple, accessible information for parents on school policies, where to get help, what resources are available to them, starting with an info sheet aimed at incoming Kindergarten parents ready for September.
2) Incident Response: Establish a trusted, visible presence of engaged family and community members at school events, develop response procedures to supplement the school’s
3) Culture and community engagement: starting with establishing affinity groups and assembling a list of relevant resources at LHCS, in the community, and at nearby schools
