Open ARS: Connectorium with Daniel Palacios

In March OPEN ARS: CONNECTORIUM welcomes a Spanish artist living in Berlin Daniel Palacios, who will give an artist talk on the 13th March and a workshop on the 14th of March.

March 13th at 17.30: artist talk by Daniel Palacios.
During the talk Daniel will introduce his artistic practice and processes. Also, the projects from other artists, designer, and entrepreneurs that have been produced in his studio will be introduced, this way framing a conversation around art, design, and contemporary alternatives to the mainstream art market.

March 14th 15-19.00: workshop by Daniel Palacios.
The workshop takes a deeper look at the creative processes offering an inside view and explaining tools and digital processes utilised for the production purposes of artistic work.
We will discuss nowadays options for production, showcase, and commercialisation of your work; regardless if you consider yourself an artist, designer, maker, entrepreneur or none of the above (hint: it's all the same thing).
So if you bring samples of your work, sketches or just want to get feedback on how to implement a new idea, we'll go over it together.

Experimental within contemporary art, Daniel Palacios’ artworks evolve through interactive installations, site-specific engravings and sculptures of data visualisation as well as critical design projects.
He shows an interest in issues related to natural phenomena in our immediate surroundings, of a certain scientific nature, questioning subjective aspects of perception and investigating the alternative use of materials and production processes; confronting the preconceived ideas of the public and their expectations.
His practice has been exhibited internationally in artistic centers such as the Museo Extremeño e Iberoamericano de Arte Contemporaneo, National Art Museum of China, ZKM and Ars Electronica; as well as at the VOLTA and ARCO art fairs. It is part of public art collections such as the Andalusian Center of Contemporary Art and also of scientific institutions such as the Science Museum of London and Science Museum of Barcelona.
In parallel to his own production, his studio operates as a production facility focused on helping other artists, designers, and entrepreneurs to produce their projects.

OPEN ARS: CONNECTORIUM is an event series for professionals of the art field which consists of lectures, workshops, studio visits, and personal meetings with the expert guests. The project is motivated by inspiring, sharing skills, knowledge, and creative processes, and initiating new collaborations between the creative people. The aim is to introduce local artists to the international context and initiate an exchange of experience, skills, ideas and contacts.

PAST CONNECTORIUM: Stockholm-based curator Marti Manen in January 2019, and in June 2018 we had our first guests curator Torun Ekstrand from Sweden and artist Jan Christensen from Norway.
