Katsugi Taiko  / Chappa
People tend to think playing katsugi okedo taiko—a barrel drum carried on a shoulder strap—is very difficult or not for everyone. However, Yosuke believes everyone can become good at playing this style of taiko. The reason? Yosuke says he is proof that if you practice, you can get good at it, because he was really bad at playing katsugi okedo in the beginning. It’s a challenging style, which means Yosuke’s “Everyone can play Katsugi Okedo Workshop” is very popular in Japan. With his unique way of teaching, you can expect to improve your single-sided and double-sided drumming in this workshop

Low-Daiko ( Tazi-jima + swing rhythm )
Learn the Basics of the low Horizontal playing style, made famous around the world by Miyake-Jima Taiko

Taiko Basics [fuse-uchi] — upright playing style
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to play [fuse-uchi] in a way that avoids injury and lets you discover your true beauty and power as a taiko player.  Yosuke believes the safe way to play taiko and the beautiful way to play taiko are connected.  Learn about all the techniques he teaches from his years of study, training and mastery of the Taiko Arts.

Performance MasterClass  ( Free to observe )
Small groups can perform for Yousuke San and everyone can hear the thoughts and suggestions from the master, as well as practice his suggestions on the drums

Odaiko / shime / Kane ( b + c )
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to play O-daiko—the big drum—in a way that avoids injury and lets you discover your true beauty and power as a taiko player.

Odaiko / shime / Kane ( a + b ) c can observe =0)
Taiko players often get injured but Yosuke has never had an injury. He says that’s because he wants to make sure he can continue playing taiko with power and grace. According to Yosuke, the safe way to play taiko and the beautiful way to play taiko are connected.
