Come join the fun & make memories happen with the KRES PTSA. We would love your involvement- big or small. PTSA Board Members have Board Meetings once per month (typically in the evening- 9 per entire school year), and General Membership Meetings are 4 times per year. **No prior experience needed.

Here are PTA board positions... there's quite a few so bare with us as you read through these! There really is something for everyone.

President- duties include collaborating with entire board, especially VP's & School Admin to ensure everyone is up to speed & working together. Preside at all meetings of the association (Board & General Membership). Coordinate the work of the officers and committees of the association. Foster an environment of open communication among all board members.

Duties to include filling vacancies as needed, ensures these Chairs are on schedule and have resources/support/guidance they need. Consults & reports with entire executive board. Advises & assists with Standing Chairs: Sponsorship Chair & Spirit Store Chair. *

3rd Vice President- VP of Program Chairs. Assists all Standing Chairs that fall under the Programs umbrella. Duties to include filling vacancies as needed, ensures these Chairs are on schedule and have resources/support/guidance they need. Consults & reports with entire executive board. Advises and assists with Standing Chairs: Homeroom Coordinator, Staff Appreciation Chair, Volunteer Coordinator, & Arts in Education (Reflections program). *

Treasurer- Duties to include:
Have custody of all the funds of the association. Keep books of account and records including bank statements, receipts, budgets, invoices, paid receipts and cancelled checks. Make disbursements in accordance with the budget adopted by the association.
Present a financial report, both written and verbal, at every meeting of the KRES PTSA.
Complete and file all necessary tax documents to include sales tax reports to Texas Comptroller as required (annually, quarterly or monthly). Reconcile financial records. Generate financial reports for executive board and/or membership meetings. Propose any budget amendments as needed.

Secretary-
Duties include:
Maintain all official records of the association. Record in the minutes all business transacted at each association and board meeting. Present minutes from the previous meeting, association or board. Present a report of board meetings to the association membership as needed. Act as the corresponding secretary, reading communications at meetings and writing thank you notes, etc. Assume the duties of the historian. *

Interest in Board/Chair Positions-choose as many positions that interests you! You may serve on several committees! *

Parliamentarian (this is appointed by the President, but nice to know if there's an interest here). Our PTSA follows Robert's Rule of Order & the parliamentarian would know rules, keep meetings going, etc.

Council Rep (appointed by Presidentl must attend meetings in New Braunfels multiple times per school year)

Membership Chair (launch membership drive with back to school packets; goal Voice for Every Child). Lots of resources available to guide you! )

Advocacy Chair

Communications Chair (calendar, newsletter "PTA Press", keep website up to date)

Sponsorship Chair (launch July 1 the beginning of fiscal year & have most of this done by Sept/Oct)

Spirit Store Chair (presale orders for KRES merch)

Homeroom Coordinator Chair (coordinates Homeroom Parents & relays information to HRP's re: activities like holiday parties, booths at spooktacular or baskets for auctions)

Staff Appreciation (organizing lunchenons, pop-up carts, Teacher Appreciation Week)

Volunteer Coordinator (Creates Sign Up Genius for volunteer needs: workroom, hallway heroes, grade level copies, library, book fair, water day, any time we need volunteers to promote that)

Arts in Education Chair (Reflections Program)

Sub-committee- Scholarship Chair

Sub-committee- Fall Event Fundraising Chair (Greenback possibility / Spooktacular)

Sub-committee- Spring Event Fundraising Chair (Fiesta)

Sub-committee- Holiday Event Chair (i.e. Candy Cane Lane- getting volunteers, decorating, buying merchandise, etc)

Sub-committee- Yearbook Chair

Sub-committee- Means & Ways- general behind-the-scenes fundraising (Spirit Nights, BoxTops, Minted.com, Givebacks)

Sub-committee- Grants Chair (searching for & applying for grants to enhance the elementary school)

Sub-committee- Healthy Lifestyles (gardening, fitness programs)

Sub-committee-Hospitality (setting up any parents/child event reception, this would include a Meet & Greet with new to KRES families, 5th grade promotion, musical receptions (if desired in future), Volunteer appreciation breakfast, etc)

Sub-committee-Special Events Coordinator (Family Picnic, Water Day, etc)

Sub-committee-Student Programs (assemblies, student/family night events)

Sub-committee- Translating English to Spanish on fliers, newsletters, etc

This is a lot of information- I’m interested & not sure how to answer this quite yet. I’ll email the board to discuss!

There's so many ways to help out! If we have a lot of volunteers doing a little, we can conquer so much more than than just a couple of volunteers doing A LOT.
We WELCOME you!!
If volunteering in other ways like as a homeroom parent, workroom copies, library helper, hallway hero, etc is more your jam, we'll have more information on how to sign up for this for the 24-25 school year at Meet the Teacher in August!
Most importantly, bring your passions and loves to the board! Everyone doesn't fit into a check box, but everyone has something that could help an organization like the PTSA!
