British Audio-Visual Research Network - Virtual Colloquia (2022-23)
The BARN Virtual Colloquia was established in 2020 to foster an international, virtual community of scholars and practitioners from all disciplines engaged with the study of music and sound in audio-visual media. We now invite proposals for the next two series of events: these will take place from October-December 2022 and January-March 2023.

Submissions may relate to any aspect of music, sound and the moving image, and may take the following formats:

• Standard 20-minute conference papers and Q&A
• Full themed panels (Two or three 20-minute papers plus, optionally, a session chair)
• Interviews with industry figures

**Proposals will be reviewed on a rolling basis so early submissions are strongly encouraged!**

All sessions will take place via Zoom and are scheduled for Thursdays at 4pm UK (BST or GMT). For any further questions/comments, please email the committee: barnvirtual@gmail.com.

If a large number of proposals is received, then priority may be given to speakers who did not present in last term’s events.

We look forward to receiving your proposals!

AV requirements?
Please let us know if you have any AV requirements beyond a shared presentation (e.g. streamed audio/video). N.B. We will be asking presenters to share their own materials.
Are you happy for your presentation to be recorded? *
If "yes", this will be stored in an unlisted web archive for future viewing.
Twitter username (if applicable)
This will be used to publicise your presentation via @BARNVirtual.
How did you hear about this CfP? *
Would you potentially be interested in joining the organising committee?
We are looking for PGRs and ECRs to join us! This is a low-commitment opportunity and can be shaped around the interests of the individual. It will likely involve some of the following roles: hosting/chairing events; website maintenance; publicity; general administration etc. This is a great opportunity to contribute your ideas and perspectives, to make connections within this disciplinary field, and to develop administration skills.
