Somalia by Jamya Johnson (12:00 - 12:30 p.m.) -- Students will learn about Somalia, Somalian culture, and even learn some of the language themselves. During this presentation, students will be taught about Somalian geography, including the many cities and planes that inhabit the small country. Students will learn about language and religion, since they are very important aspects in relation to the country. Then, the students will be engulfed in learning about the Somalian people, with aspects of dress, marriage and the more traditional views on the country. The students will then be able to be exposed to different foods native to the country. Closing out the presentation will be a game of Kahoot, a Bendi tutorial for those wanting to learn how to create their own Bendis, and even learn how to wrap Guntiinos (traditional women's wear). This workshop will overall be fun, informative, and exciting for students wanting to have a great (Virtual) International Day!
