Roanoke Foodshed Network May Farm Tour
Join us for a farm tour and networking social at Rivenwood Gardens, a small farm outside Floyd, Virginia. Corey Hamza and Christine Mann, owners and operators of Rivenwood Gardens, will show you their integrated farming systems designed to reduce external inputs. Corey and Christine bring their backgrounds in ecology to farming by combining animals, vegetables, cover cropping and organic no-till systems to create nutrient dense food. Participants will get to see and hear about their experiences with various organic no-till farming practices. Shawn Jadrnicek, cover crop and organic no-till expert and Roanoke VCE Ag agent, will also share about his experience with organic no-till in vegetable production. Networking social to follow the event with beverages and cookies. For more information, contact Shawn Jadrnicek at
