Thank you for offering your skills at the Northern Green Gathering 2026. We are excited to be returning Newland Park, Normanton from 13th-16th August, and are glad of your application to join us.
The healing area is proud of the variety and quality of workshops we offer, so thank your for sharing your passion and expertise. Here is some info before you begin:
Money:
NGG is a not-for-profit company, and is run entirely by volunteers. We do it for the love and we hope you feel the same. Your workshop is your contribution to the gathering, and is offered in exchange for your ticket. Participation in workshops is free for our community, so please note that you will not be permitted to charge for this service. Energy exchange is the name of the game.
Time requirements:
We ask all workshop leaders to provide at least 4 hours' practical workshop time over the course of the gathering, and to attend an induction on the first morning you spend with us - ideally Thursday 13th August. Workshops are usually 1-2 hours long but it is up to you if you want to go longer or shorter, as long as they total at least four hours. In exchange for your time and skill, we will provide you with free entry to the whole event, including camping, for yourself and any children under the age of 16 who are dependent on you.
Complementary Tickets:
We are happy for you to bring a plus one, known as a 'helper', and we just ask that they contribute one 6-hour shift of volunteering towards the running of the event. There are many ways they can offer their support, including stewarding, crew food, welfare, recycling and site build and break. Please ask your helper to fill out a volunteer application from the “Get Involved” page on the website. It is very important that they write in the last comments box that they are also supporting a member of the healing crew and enter your name. If you have queries about this please contact us at
healing@nggonline.org.uk.
If you are disabled your helper can apply for a free ticket.
Workshop Space:
Most healing area workshops will take place in the communal spaces provided. The main workshop structure is a large “hoopy tent” that can accommodate around 20 participants (depending on the activity). There is also a 3x4m army tent that can be used for smaller or more intimate workshops. If you have an opinion on where your workshop would be best suited, let us know!
If you would like to bring your own structure and run your own program of events, please contact us separately at
healing@nggonline.org.uk to discuss.
Power Provision:
Northern Green Gathering is an off grid Gathering so all the power used on site is sourced on site from solar and wind providers. For this reason we try to minimise energy usage and are unable to provide electrical hook-ups. We also request that no generators are brought on site, so if you need music or lighting you will need to bring your own speaker/leisure battery, etc.
Waste and recycling:
Please minimise the amount of non-recyclable packaging that you bring to the gathering, and take home as much as you can. Recycling points will be located around site to make it easy to process rubbish properly. You must leave your space clean and litter-free at the end of the event, so that we don’t have to blacklist you… :)
Arriving, setting up and leaving:
The event is open to the Public from 2pm on Thursday 13th August. You are welcome to join us from Wednesday 12th, but you may get roped into helping out...
For health and safety reasons, all structures larger than a 4 person tent must be erected before Noon on Thursday 13th August, and wherever possible they should not be dismantled until Monday 17th. If you plan to bring a large structure or live-in vehicle to the healing area, please do not plan to dismantle it until at least 6pm on Sunday 16th.
We would like to hold on to you for as long as possible after the event, to help us clear away the site. No worries if you can't stick around, but if you can we will feed you.
Once you have completed this form we will get back to you within a few weeks. If you are accepted we will need evidence of your up-to-date public liability insurance documents.
:)
