APPA Hui 2026 Registration form
Dates: 24th & 25th July 
Location: Cawthron Institute, Whakatū (Nelson), Te Waipounamu (also available online/remote).

The Aotearoa Plastic Pollution Alliance (APPA) welcomes all to register for our Annual Hui 2026, our first in Te Waipounamu, to be held at Cawthron Institute in Whakatū, Nelson (this is also an online event). 

The main focus of the hui is plastic pollution and wider waste issues and this year we are going with a solutions focused theme of 'Looking Forward'.

Registration fees:
APPA Members - $20
Non Members - $40

We really appreciate your contribution. Your fee will go towards koha for our speakers/presenters, general event costs and some refreshments. You are responsible for organising your own transport, accommodation and meals outside of the provided morning and afternoon tea. 

Schedule outline (times are approximate at this stage): 
  • Friday 24th July 8:30-4pm - Various sessions held at Cawthron for hui attendees. Think presentations, workshops, panel discussions, demonstrations.
  • Friday 24th July 5-8pm - Green Drinks and movie screening at the Waa! Club open to attendees and the local community. There will be a panel speaker and networking followed by a movie screening of the Plastic Detox documentary. This is a separate ticketed event with kai included  Please find Greendrinks tickets here.
  • Saturday 25th July 9am-3pm - The morning will involved a workshop followed by a wrap up session and hui closing in the afternoon. 
  • There will also be a Watch Party in Tāmaki Makaurau at the Zero Waste Hub, 1-3pm for those in Auckland!
We are busy working on a programme now and will send out updates as they are confirmed. If you would like to present on some recent research, run a workshop or speak on a panel please submit your ideas via this form - Call for Abstracts APPA Hui 2026
