OVERVIEW: Flipped instruction differs from typical instruction in that, instead of presenting new material in class and then assigning problems to be completed outside of class, students watch videos or read new material outside of class and then work on problems in class. Within this general approach, mathematics teachers can implement flipped instruction in a wide variety of ways. This research study will develop a framework for flipped instruction that will provide a better understanding of the relationships among various implementations of flipped instruction and student learning. The purpose of this survey in particular is to gather information about your background and your views on flipped instruction. This information will be used to determine your eligibility for future participation in the research study. Completing this survey does not obligate you to participate in any future activities in the project. If you are eligible for the full study a member of our research team will contact you to invite you to participate in the full study. If you are not eligible to participate, your responses will remain on file for the duration of our recruitment period in an effort to avoid duplicating recruitment efforts. Following the recruitment period, the information will be deleted.
