2024 ACTE Work-Based Learning Conference - Call for Proposals
Thank you for your interest in submitting a session proposal to present at the 2024 ACTE Work-Based Learning Conference. This annual conference specifically focuses on professional development for WBL professionals across the United States at secondary and post-secondary career and technical education programs and institutions.

The 2024 ACTE Work-Based Learning Conference will be held May 1-3, 2024, in Milwaukee, WI.

This year, the following content areas have been identified as the focus for delivering high-quality work-based learning programs.  Each submission must indicate which content area the proposed presentation addresses.
  • Developing a WBL curriculum
  • Meaningful employer/business partner interaction (including employer incentives for participation)
  • Equitable access to WBL opportunities (including overcoming barriers such as transportation)
  • Compliance with laws and regulations (insurance, worker's compensation, age restrictions)
  • WBL program management
  • New & innovative work-based learning initiatives (funding, summer programs, simulations, virtual & entrepreneurship)
  • Growing, promoting, recruiting for and marketing the WBL program
  • WBL in the elementary and middle grades (K-8)
  • WBL in high school (9-12)
  • WBL in postsecondary education
This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your successful programs and initiatives and share your expertise with colleagues.

The deadline to submit a proposal is October 16, 2023.

To have your session proposal considered for the program, please fully complete the form below. If you do not receive a confirmation message after submitting this form, please contact Jessica Rivera (jrivera@acteonline.org) to verify the status of your submission.

The person submitting a proposal is the primary contact and is responsible for notifying all other participants of acceptance, rejection, scheduling and any other information provided by ACTE. All speakers are required to register for the conference and pay their own expenses (e.g., travel, lodging, etc.) A discounted registration rate of $300.00 for ACTE members and $350.00 for non-members is available exclusively for presenters. Please note, speakers being offered a session commitment for the conference must be able to present on May 2 and/or May 3.

Each proposal will be evaluated by a panel of reviewers and submitters will be notified of their status in mid-November.
