Sleepy Hollow PBA Walter Lawrence Scholarship Award

This award is in memory of the first African American police officer hired by the village of North Tarrytown. Walter Lawrence was also a High School Counselor and Football Coach for Sleepy Hollow High School. Because of his passion on the field, this scholarship will be awarded to a minority football player who plans to study Criminal Justice.

Requirements for this scholarship/award are:
- Senior with at least a B average,
- Planning to attend a 2/4 year accredited college/university, with a major or minor in the field of criminal justice,
- Sleepy Hollow High School Football Player,
- Copy of a Letter of Acceptance/Enrollment at college/university
- Two letters of recommendation from Counselor, Teachers, Coaches or Community figure
- Transcript
- A 250 – 500 word essay.
