Who we are and What is ImagineIF
The Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA) is an agency established in 2003 under the Information and Communication Technology Act, No. 27 of 2003 and Amendment Act 33 of 2008. The agency is mandated to ICT development strategies and programmes, in both the government and private sector, including legal & policy reforms. The overall vision of ICTA is to make Sri Lanka a digital inclusive nation by transforming towards a knowledge-based society.

ImagineIF is an ICTA initiative implemented in collaboration with IT industry. The programme is a 3 day boot camp on entrepreneurship specifically targeting the university students who desire to transform their big ideas in to successful businesses.

The programme flow is as follows;

Day 1 - 7 Hours (8AM – 3PM) - A comprehensive session covering the traits, idea generation, idea validation, design thinking, inspirational talks and the success stories being shared.

Day 2 - 2 Hours (4PM – 6PM) - Individual face to face mentoring sessions for all the viable ideas brought up.

Day 3 - 6 Hours (8AM – 2PM) - Pitching competition based on the business plan derived

The programme will run in workshop style where we get the students to think differently and act fast. The sessions will be conducted in collaboration with industry experts who will prepare the ground for the participants to convert their big ideas in to sustainable start-ups. The entire boot camp will be free for all the participants. Meals and all necessary materials will be provided free of charge.

Please note that this is a not a hackathon and students who have been to hackathons and have already got mentored are not encourage to apply
