Strong East Ramapo Polling Place Poll
East Ramapo is considering a plan to change the polling places for some voters in order to "equalize" the number of people at each poll. The district would vote on the proposal in March to take effect for the May election.

The district is claiming that some polling places are overcrowded, and they need to add sites at Elmwood and 229 Maple to accommodate voters and equalize numbers across the district. Willie Trotman and the NAACP point out that such a move should not happen so quickly, that the district's plan does not address areas where voter turnout has traditionally been low due to the difficulty people have in getting to the polls, and that the poll doesn't address the issue of many voters assigned to different polling places, one for school board elections and budget votes and one for the general election.
