The ICOMIA Diversity Committee is collaborating with the EU-Funded WINBLUE project to provide a free training opportunity to its members on gender equality and gender equality plans within the blue economy. The training will be provided by AcrossLimits, one of the partners within WINBLUE and the project's Work Package Leader for Strengthening and Consolidating Skills.
The project "WINBLUE – Empowering Women and Mainstreaming Gender Equality in the Blue Economy”, is co-funded under EU's European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (Project no. 101112278), and it seeks to accelerate the empowerment of women in the blue economy and facilitate their participation in sectors focused on the conservation and sustainable use of aquatic resources. One of the core actions of WINBLUE is a targeted approach towards up-skilling and empowering the private sector, so as to strengthen and consolidate the capacity of stakeholders within the blue economy to mainstream gender equality in organisational policies, measures, practices, cultures, and individual attitudes. Within WINBLUE, Gender Equality Plan models for the blue economy have been co-created by the WINBLUE consortium and relevant stakeholders, and these models will now be shared with the private sector so that they can use them as templates for their own use.
This training is intended to:
- Boost your understanding with a basic introduction to gender equality.
- Understand the need and relevance of Gender Equality Plans.
- Learn how to plan and implement a Gender Equality Strategy, using WINBLUE templates as a reference.
The online sessions will take place in two timeslots (same session repeated) to enable maximum outreach across different timezones:
- Wednesday 26 March: 16:00 GMT | 17:00 CET | 12:00 EST
- Thursday 27 March 09:00 GMT | 10:00 CET | 20:00 AEDT
