SCLL - Tee Ball to Pee Wee - Coach Recommendation Form
Coaches please fill out this recommendation form to provide information and insights into the player being considered to forego their 6 year old season in Tee Ball and move to the Pee Wee division according to our bylaws. 2024 Bylaw Statement for Inclusion:

A baseball player age 6 may be allowed to “play up” in Pee Wee, pending approval based upon the following process/procedures/criteria is met:

  1. Player’s age is LL age 6

  2. Player has played at least 1 season of Tee Ball

  3. Direct request from the player’s parent/guardian to the SCLL BoD to play up in the Pee Wee division 

  4. A recommendation from the player’s previous Tee Ball coach stating the player meets or exceeds the baseline skill set which includes the following:  

    1. A player must be able to safely and consistently hit a ball thrown overhand by a coach from near the mound area

    2. A player must be able to safely and consistently catch a thrown ball from a distance of approximately 60 feet

    3. A player must be able to safely and consistently field ground balls from a distance of approximately 60 feet

    4. A player must be able to safely and accurately throw a ball a reasonable distance

    5. A player must have an elementary knowledge of baseball to include base running, defense positioning, offensive positioning, and rules of the game. 

    6. If an unbiased recommendation is unable to be obtained then evaluations of that player will be considered by the player agent, safety officer or BoD. 

  5. Parents/Guardians must agree to abide by the decision of the SCLL Board.
