SCOTLAND SATURDAYS Open Market (SSom) is a community inspired event on the last Saturday of each month where buyers and sellers convene for the sale of goods. Scotlandville Saturday's mission is to support the economic viability of Uptown Baton Rouge, provide a common focal point for community gatherings, and showcase the works of local artisans, makers, and businesses.

Vendor Fee- $25/per event
(What is this used for? Improvement of the SSom grounds, public services during events, promotional marketing, vendor resources, and general business operating expenses.)

VENDOR AGREEMENT

Vendor participation expectations:
· Arrive no later than 11:00am to setup (Earliest setup starts at 10:30am). Booths and displays must be completely ready for patronage by 12:00pm. If you arrive after 11 am, you will not be allowed to set up and you will not be refunded your registration. No exception.
(Why? When vendors setup late it sends a message to the public that SSom is unorganized.)

· Pack up no earlier than 3:00pm. Failure to comply will result in suspension from future events. No exceptions.
(Why? When vendors pack up early it signals to the public that the event is over, negatively effecting the sales of other vendors)

· Respond to monthly communications to reserve and pay for a booth space. If you do not reserve in advance, you are not guaranteed a space at the market. Any Vendor arriving at the SSom without a reservation may be turned away.

· Should circumstances arise that interfere with your ability to attend the market, you are required to contact the SSom manager to give notice of your absence so that necessary changes may be made to the market map.

· Communicate directly with the market director if you experience any complications with the SSom.

· Vendors will operate as individual entities and will be responsible for collecting their own city and state sales taxes.

· In the event of inclement weather or location change, the market manager will send information regarding market procedures.

· SSom reserves the right to alter the guidelines of the Market at any time.

Booth Displays, Tents and Tables
· In general, booth spaces are 12’X 12’, but booths, tents and exhibits may be no larger than 10’x10’ to allow walking room between tents. All display materials, tables and signs must be kept within the confines of your booth space.

Ethics/Conduct
· SSom is a co-operative; it is not a competitive environment. While caps may be placed on the number of vendors in each category, SSom does not facilitate monopolies in the market.

· SSom is an equal opportunity market and event. Discrimination against vendors, staff, members, or patrons due to race, creed, class, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical or mental disability, or religious affiliation will not be tolerated.

· Vendors must treat SSom staff, volunteers, fellow vendors, and visitors with professionalism, courtesy and respect. Slanderous or derogatory statements and other actions that denigrate your fellow vendors, their products, patrons, or SSom officials will not be tolerated. Any vendor who consistently displays distasteful behavior will be dismissed at the discretion of the Director/CEO.

· Vendors must comply with all Federal, State, and Local laws and ordinances. It is the Vendor’s responsibility to be aware of such laws and ordinances. SSom shall have the authority to warn, suspend, or expel a Vendor based on unlawful activity or violation of the Vendor Agreement.
