Colmesneil ISD School Safety Survey
Colmesneil ISD is conducting a survey of stakeholders in regard to school safety. Please take a moment to thoughtfully consider and answer the questions below. Your input is very valuable in our decision making process. In the coming months the district will be collecting information and data from a variety of sources ranging from the needs and input from the community, district personnel, current strengths/personnel capabilities and budget.

There are several different programs used by schools to increase safety. Please rank the following in terms of how you view each of these programs.

• No change to current staffing, but increased training for staff and students regarding current campus safety protocols and our Emergency Operations Plan.
• Adding personnel in the form of a School Resource Officer.
• Adding personnel in the form of a School Marshal
• Arming and training current personnel through the Guardian Program.
• Leave all existing security measures in place. Let local law enforcement respond.
• A complete district repeal of the “gun free zone” policy for concealed firearm license holders, providing the method of implementation is lawful in accordance with all state, local, and federal laws.
