2026 Study Tour 1: Salinas Valley, California (August 2026) (indicative dates only, approx. 10 days)

Visit the “Salad Bowl of the World,” focusing on high-efficiency production, irrigation management, soil health, and sustainability initiatives, to name a few focus areas.

The tour will explore production systems in the Salinas Valley, potentially align with field trials, and look at the adoption of ag-tech and innovation.

2026 Study Tour 2: Young Grower Tour to New Zealand South Island (October 2026) (indicative dates only, approx. 7 days)

Building on the success of the 2025 NZ tour, this program is aimed at early-career growers and emerging leaders.
Highlights include visits to Lincoln University, Plant & Food Research, and Canterbury Plains production systems, with timing selected to coincide with peak spring production.
Great opportunity for younger growers to develop networks and broaden horizons.

2026 Onion Study Tour: USA (July/August/September 2026) (indicative dates only, approx. 10 days)

The United States was identified as a top destination for a study tour for Australian onion growers.
This tour will focus on pest, disease, and weed management, as well as large-scale production and post-harvest systems. Key regions will potentially include California and the Pacific Northwest.

Note: these are EOIs only and further details will be sent out closer to the tour.
