This application will help us account for areas of interest as well as levels of experience and access needs!

Please note that filling out this application, while extremely appreciated, will not guarantee you a spot. For these clinics, we will prioritize Black and Indigenous folx, people of colour, those at the intersections of queer and trans identities and follow a (forever work in progress) equitable model to choose participants. Please apply regardless, it helps us make our case for funding for more events.
WHAT IS TRAD YOU ASK?
Trad, or Traditional Climbing, is a style of climbing that involves climbing crack systems in rocks, as well as the practice of placing specialized gear as protection "pro" on the way up. In the culture of rock climbing, trad is considered highly technical and, realistically, it is also the most gatekept and expensive. When dude bros talk about outdoor rock climbing at the elite level, they're likely discussing at least an element of trad climbing. THAT SAID, we like trad because of so many not dude-bro-y reasons... trad climbing can be broken down into steps, the physical aspect as well as mindset can be tackled at a pace that works for each of us, AND the gear can be pooled to help with access.
We are open to participants' wants and needs! We wanna work together to share knowledge that we're excited to teach and you're excited to learn! We love trad, but we love all sorts of aspects of climbing, being outdoors, safety, technique and snacking (that's mostly Nana but seriously, snacks are the best).
