2017 Climate Leadership Awards

The annual Second Nature Climate Leadership Awards recognize innovative and advanced leadership in sustainability, climate mitigation, and resilience at signatory campuses of the Presidents' Climate Leadership Commitments. They do so based on demonstrated advances in innovation, embedded opportunities, and student preparedness with relation to sustainability and climate action.

Second Nature offers these awards in partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). Award winners are recognized as part of the Greenbuild Leadership Awards Program, benefiting from global publicity opportunities.

Nominations are now being accepted from institutions that are current signatories of the Presidents' Climate Leadership Commitments (Carbon Commitment, Resilience Commitment or Climate Commitment). Applications are due May 26, 2017 by 11:59 pm PT.

Finalists will be announced by early July. Winners will be announced in October. If selected as a winner, you will need to confirm the attendance of a representative from your institution to the Greenbuild Leadership Awards (at the Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, November 8-10 in Boston, MA) within one week of being contacted. If you cannot confirm within that time, the spot will be offered to the runner up.
