SAMABHAV - International Travelling Film Festival on Gender Diversity & Inclusion
SamaBhav is a unique, one of its kind non-ticketed, film-festival
showcasing outstanding films around gender themes, stirring conversations
among youth. The film festival, held annually, travels to select cities and
districts across India engaging and sensitizing a significant number of
young people on contemporary gender issues.
The Film Festival is held over two days and at all the Festival venues,
screenings of films are preceded and followed by stimulating discussions
with the filmmakers, protagonists, gender rights activists, and experts
from civil society organizations. The specially curated films – short,
documentary and feature films - are of high cinematic quality, covering a
the wide gamut of gender and human rights matters, including various forms
of gender-based discrimination/violence against women and other
gender minorities, challenging patriarchy, misogyny, sexism and
redefining masculinity.
MAVA will be organizing the 5th edition of SamaBhav traveling to 12
cities and 4 rural districts across India, from February 20th till the end of
August 2023.
