HANDS ON ROLES:
Kids Craft: Either leading or helping (please specify in the comments section which you'd be more comfortable with) run a basic craft workshop with children. We'll be making paper lanterns, decorating gingerbread and making thumbprint photo frames (with paint & cardboard). This will be roughly an hour shift, helping the children make the craft. If there is a specific craft you'd like to assist with please add that in below too.
Adults Craft: Either leading or helping (please specify in the comments section which you'd be more comfortable with) run a basic craft workshop for adults to make a christmas gift. We'll be making paper lanterns, a christmas tree out of tea bags and decorating jars and filling them with a mulled wine spice kit. This will be roughly an hour shift, explaining the craft and assisting with creation. If there is a specific craft you'd like to assist with please add that in below too.
All Ages Craft: Either leading or helping (please specify in the comments section which you'd be more comfortable with) run a basic craft workshop for adults and children to make a christmas tree decoration to hang on our tree or to take home. This mostly involves gluing popsicle sticks together and painting them. This will be roughly a two hour shift, helping who ever drops in to design and make their decoration and encouraging them to hang it on our community tree.
FACE TO FACE ROLES:
Bar Tending: Helping out behind our bar, serving hot & cold drinks (including mulled wine, beer, juice, tea & coffee). Taking payment and maybe restocking the bar/ making more mulled wine as needed. You must be over 18 to do this role. This is roughly a 2 hour shift.
Santa's Helper: Santa will be visiting our Christmas Fair! Hooray! We're looking for some people high in Christmas cheer to help him out during the day. Making sure that he's doing okay, the children waiting to meet him are doing okay and the line doesn't accidentally cross a fire exit. There may also be a candy cane hunt to help out with in this role. Dressing up is not compulsory. This is roughly a 2 hour shift.
Stall Support: Oasis will be hosting a number of stalls; running a raffle, giving out information about the hub, selling baked goods made by the community and hub youth and maybe some games. We need some people to stand or sit behind the tables, sell the wares and encourage people to explore the hub further. This is roughly a 2 hour role.
BEHIND THE SCENES ROLES:
Running/ Kitchen Helping: This is a more flexible role. We need people who are happy to move around the farm, advise people who are looking for specific areas & tell them what's happening next as well as collecting any rubbish that might turn up, and doing small jobs like refilling toilet paper, hand towels and soap. This role might also include washing up dirty cups and utensils in the kitchen as needed. This is roughly a 2 hour shift, though can be adapted to suit what ever time you have.
Set Up (Friday Night): This role is from 5pm - 9pm on Friday night the 30th of November. You don't have to be there the whole time, we're just looking for some hands to help put up christmas lights, arrange tables, set up Santa's grotto and make sure everything is ready for the Christmas Fair on Saturday.
Set Up (Saturday Morning): This role is from 9am - 12 midday on Saturday the 1st of December. It's all the day-of set up jobs, helping stall holders get what they need, setting up the bar & kitchen, setting out a candy cane hunt and prepping craft activities.
Pack Down (Saturday Evening): Last but not least, we need some helping hands to put the farm back to how is normally is on Saturday night. From 5.30pm - 8.30pm we'll be cleaning, collecting rubbish, putting tables away and generally tiding up the farm. You don't have to stay for the whole time, but we're aiming for many hands making this job light work.
