The following outlines the process, criteria, and fees for requesting copies of films from the Film Archive's collection:
1. Request Submission: Complete this Film Footage Request Form.
2. Confirmation: Our officer will contact you within 7 business days with detailed information regarding your request.
3. Copyright Clearance: If the film is under copyright, you must obtain permission directly from the copyright holder and provide the Film Archive with the permission document.
4. Handling Fees
- mp4 H.264 (with Thai Film Archive logo) Note: Permitted for non-fiction film for educational use and non-public screenings only) :
First 30 minutes: 300 baht
31-60 minutes: 500 baht
Over 60 minutes: 100 baht per 10 minutes
- SD: 500 baht per minute (any portion of a minute is charged as a full minute)
- HD: 1,000 baht per minute (any portion of a minute is charged as a full minute)
- 2K: 1,500 baht per minute (any portion of a minute is charged as a full minute)
- 4K: 3,000 baht per minute (any portion of a minute is charged as a full minute)
Time Calculation: The fee is calculated based on the duration of each requested segment. The durations of segments are not added together.
Example: For a request to use three segments from a film:
- Segment 1: 12:50 - 13:45 (55 seconds = 1 minute)
- Segment 2: 19:00 - 20:30 (90 seconds = 2 minutes)
- Segment 3: 25:10 - 25:20 (10 seconds = 1 minute)
5. YouTube Channel Usage: Use of films from the Thai Film Archive's YouTube channel is permitted without charge, provided there are no alterations or cropping of the image. Film Archive staff will provide further details after you submit the form
6. Fee Reduction Eligibility: Thai government agencies, Thai foundations, Thai non-profit organizations, and Thai students may apply for a fee reduction. A formal request must be submitted to the Director or their designee, along with a letter from the respective institution confirming that the film will not be used for commercial purposes. The Film Archive will embed its logo in the file. Film Archive staff will provide further details.
7. Rights and Policies: The Thai Film Archive reserves the right to provide films in accordance with copyright and related laws, including the Royal Decree on the Establishment of the Film Archive (Public Organization) B.E. 2552 and (No. 2) B.E. 2562, and adheres to its Privacy Policy.
8. This form serves solely as a request for information to enable staff to coordinate with users.
