2024/25 Application for The Center for Advanced Learning (CAL)
Welcome to the start of your CAL journey!  CAL is a public charter school, and enrollment is determined based on a lottery system.  To complete the application, fill out all the questions in as much detail as possible.

How Are Students Accepted?
To enter the enrollment lottery, students need to complete this application no later than February 29th at 11:59 PM.  Once your application is submitted via this form, it will be submitted to your counselor for review.

Additional lotteries will be run for new applications after the initial February lottery. If there are more applications than there are open slots by the time the next lottery occurs, then those newly applied students will be entered into a lottery as described below.

Applications will be checked, and lotteries will be run on the following dates:
- March 8th
- March 15th
- March 22nd
- April 26th
- May 31th (Final lottery)

How Is My Application Approved For The Lottery?
Counselors approve applicants for the lottery who are currently on track to graduate or have a plan. If you have fallen behind on credits, you need to be actively seeking opportunities to recover credits through summer school, online courses, or other options to qualify for the lottery.  Being on track for high school graduation means earning the required number of course credits in subjects like math, science, and English according to your school's guidelines.

What Happens If There Are More Applications Than Open Seats?
If more students apply for a given program than there are available seats, a lottery will be held on March 1st, 2024. Selected students will be offered a spot in their applied program. All other students will be randomly assigned a waitlist number. If spots open at a later date, students will be contacted based on their waitlist order.

Confirming Acceptance
All selected students will need to confirm their enrollment after the enrollment offer has been sent. CAL will send the enrollment offer via email and text message based on the contact information supplied in this application.

Students who do not accept their enrollment offer within the 48-hour block will be moved to the waitlist and offered to the next student on the waitlist.

NOTE: CAL does not discriminate on the basis of disability, race, religion, or any other factors in the admission and treatment of students.
