Get Involved with the PV Education Foundation! Pennsville’s Districtwide Parent-Teacher Organization
The PV Education Foundation is powered by parents, guardians, teachers, and community members who want to make our schools even better for our students!
Whether you have a little time or a lot, there is a place for you. You can become a Room Parent, Room Helper, Committee Member, event volunteer, or simply attend our monthly meetings and stay involved.
Room Parents & Room Helpers. One of the best ways to get involved in your child’s school is by joining your classroom’s Room Parent/Helper team!
Room Parent: Each classroom needs at least one Room Parent, but our goal is to have up to four parents involved in each classroom. Room Parents help connect the classroom teacher, families, Room Helpers, and the PV Education Foundation.
Room Parent Responsibilities Include:
- Working with the teacher to plan classroom parties, including snacks, games, crafts, and activities.
Coordinating with Room Helpers to gather refreshments, supplies, and donations.
Sharing important classroom or PV Education Foundation updates with families.
Volunteering for school events such as Book Fairs, Race for Education, Field Day, fundraisers, and other special events.
Attending the PV Education Foundation meetings.
Room Helper: There is no limit to the number of Room Helpers, the more the merrier!
Room Helpers provide extra support to the Room Parents and classroom teacher throughout the year.
Room Help Responsibilities Include:
- Sending in refreshments, supplies, or donations for classroom parties.
Assisting Room Parents with party planning and preparation.
Volunteering at school events when available.
Attending PV Education Foundation meetings when possible.
You do not have to attend every event or meeting to be a Room Parent or Helper. We know families are busy, and we appreciate whatever time you are able to give!
Important Room Parent & Helper Dates:
October 20th - Room Parent & Helper Kickoff Meeting. This meeting will take place immediately following the PV Education Foundation general meeting in the Valley Park Library. Pre-K 3 & Pre-K 4 Room Parents and Helpers are welcome to attend as well. Please see Lisa Piccioni or your classroom teacher for information specific to your class parties.

Join a PV Education Foundation Committee
Our committees bring parents and guardians together to plan events, raise funds, support teachers and staff, and create special experiences for Pennsville students.
Fundraising Committee: Fundraising makes nearly everything we do possible! This committee helps plan and organize the fundraisers that support field trips, family events, student activities, classroom resources, school improvements, and more. Fundraisers may include: Holiday Market, Race for Education, Gertrude Hawk, Grateful Grams, Community fundraisers and dine-to-donate events!
Whether you love organizing, reaching out to local businesses, gathering donations, promoting events, or helping behind the scenes, we would love your help!
Social Committee: The Social Committee helps bring our school community together! This team helps brainstorm, plan, promote, and volunteer at family and student events throughout the year, including activities such as: Candy BINGO, Movie Nights, Goodies with Grands, and Back-to-School events.
If you enjoy planning fun events and creating opportunities for families to connect, this is the committee for you!
Sunshine Committee: The Sunshine Committee helps us show appreciation and support to the amazing teachers and staff throughout the Pennsville School District.
This committee may help coordinate: Teacher & Staff Appreciation week, Teacher Spotlights, and Special recognitions throughout the school year.
It’s a great way to help make our teachers and staff feel recognized and appreciated!
PV Education Foundation Meetings: Everyone is welcome!
Meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM in the Valley Park Library.
Our next meeting is October 20th.
A Few Important Notes:
- Only two Room Parents per classroom may attend each classroom party. We will coordinate which Room Parents attend and organize each party.
- Please do not bring younger siblings into classrooms during parties or school events.
- If you would like to become a Room Parent or Room Helper, please complete the sign-up form by October 17th.
- Even if Room Parenting isn’t for you, we would still love to have you join a committee, volunteer at an event, attend a meeting, or simply stay connected.
