Want to have fun helping imagine what a stronger democracy looks like?
Then take part in the DMV Democracy Festival's Democracy Wall!

The 2026 DMV Democracy Festival (DemFest) is on Saturday, October 10, 1-6pm, at All Souls Church Unitarian, 1500 Harvard St NW, DC, an eight-minute walk from the Columbia Heights Station on the Green Line.      

As part of DemFest, Learning Life is recruiting volunteers to contribute to the Democracy Wall, a large, long poster on which contributors will be able to write and draw in answer to the question: 

What would strong democracy look like in the Washington DC region?  

Contributors can think creatively about how democracy can be strengthened not only in government, but in families, schools, workplaces, religious communities, neighborhoods, media, malls, and other settings of life in the DC region.   

The Democracy Wall will be open to contributions from 1 to 6pm on DemFest Day.  

Individuals and organizations interested in contributing to the Democracy Wall should mark their calendars, and fill out the form below.  We will then keep you updated via email. By RSVP'ing below you'll get DemFest and wider DMV Democracy Learning Community (DLC) updates periodically via email.

Please contribute here to support DemFest's growth.  Those who contribute a minimum of $100 become a Friend of DemFest, and those who contribute at least $500 become a DemFest Sponsor.  Contributions are 100% tax deductible.
