Arctic Climate Game Jam: Host Site Registration
From April 21-30, 2017, the PoLAR Partnership will coordinate a new National Climate Game Jam focused specifically on the Arctic! This event will bring together students, educators, scientists, and game designers at sites around the country to create new game prototypes that allow players to learn about the impacts of and solutions to Arctic climate change through science-based, interactive experiences.

If you plan to host a site for the Arctic Climate Game Jam, please fill out the questions below. This will help us connect with you on a regular basis to keep you informed about best practices and event updates. As a site organizer, you have the freedom to decide on when and how your game jam will run (within the agreed upon timeframe), where it will be held, who your target participants are (students, scientists, game designers, etc.), how many participants you want to include, what specific Arctic themes you want to focus on, and what kinds of games you want to focus on creating (digital, analog, etc.).

The first steps of hosting a game jam include securing a location for your event, deciding how long your event will run, reaching out to potential partners, and creating a way for participants to learn about and register for the event. (These topics and more will be covered in Arctic Climate Game Jam conference calls, which will take place every 2-3 weeks. Please email Jessica Brunacini at jbrunacini@ei.columbia.edu to be added to the email list for these meetings, or for general questions related to the Arctic Climate Game Jam).
