Youth Code Jam, a San Antonio-based nonprofit that runs the State's largest family coding event, in partnership with the KLE Foundation, H-E-B Tournament of Champions and Red River, is excited to offer schools in Texas the opportunity to receive a $500 stipend, free event kit and free professional development to support your school in running its own in person or virtual Community Code Jam.
To date, Youth Code Jam has supported Community Code Jams at 92 schools in 37 Texas cities, through our Jam in a Box community engagement model training. In the past...and in the future...Jams were and will again be held in person. But, in light of the current pandemic, we have a virtual option for the coming school year. You will be prepared for both scenarios.
We have a limited number of Jam in a Box Kits, and selected schools will be chosen from those who apply here. Schools that were part of our 2019-20 cohort and are able to complete their Jams virtually or in person over the summer before December 2020 are eligible for Year Two funding. The 2020-21 Jam in a Box has all new materials. If you have any questions, please contact Robyn Wyland, 726-444-0925 or
