Our classes support Finnish language learning for children in every age. Parent-Child Music Class (Muskari) fosters bonding between infants and toddlers ages 0-2 with their parents through music and movement. For ages 3 and above, our Finnish language classes immerse children in language through play and cultural activities. The instruction is in Finnish, yet children without sufficient language skills can join if accompanied by a Finnish-speaking parent.

Online classes
If there is enough interest, we will offer online classes for kids aged 7-12 and teenagers aged 13 and older. Instruction is in Finnish, but children without language skills can join with a Finnish-speaking parent.
What is the class schedule?
Classes are held every other Saturday, fall semester starting on September 14th, 2024.
Fall semester: 9/14, 9/28, 10/12, 10/26, 11/9, 11/23, 12/7
Spring semester: 1/18, 2/1, 2/15, 3/1, 3/15, 3/29, 4/12, 4/26, 5/10

- Child-Parent Music Class (Muskari): 9:30 -10:00 am
- Children ages 3 and older (for children who understand Finnish): 10:30 am -12:00 pm
- Finnish as a second language (for children over 3 years old, Finnish for near-beginners): 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
Orange County
- Child-Parent Music Class (Muskari): 9:20 - 9:50 am
- Children ages 3 and older (for children who understand Finnish): 10:00-11:30 am
- Finnish as a second language (for children over 3 years old, Finnish for near-beginners): 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Online
- Children ages 7-12: 2-3 pm
- Teenagers 13 and older: 3-4 pm
All classes subject to minimum enrollment.
Fees and payment
We have revised our tuition fees for 2024-25 to align with our school's operational costs. If you require financial assistance for tuition, please reach out to us. For the school year 2024-2025 there will be no registration fee and the tuition is as follows:
Parent-Child Music Class (Muskari)
- Full year $200 (whole family)
- Fall semester only $95 (whole family)
- Spring semester only $115 (whole family)
- One-time pass: $20 per class/per child (please contact us beforehand at suomikoulula@gmail.com, subject to minimum enrollment), must be paid before the class starts
Children 3 years and older (Same pricing for online and in-person classes)
- Full year $270 for the first child, $170 for additional children
- Fall semester only $125 for the first child, $90 for additional children
- Spring semester only $155 for the first $100 for additional children
Fee to be paid via Zelle, Venmo or PayPal latest on September 31st 2024, $50 late fee applies.
