About: Members of the Rhode Island commercial fishing and seafood industry are invited to attend a full-day symposium hosted by their peers, focused on time-critical issues related to the intersection of fisheries, seafood, climate, and energy. Participants will receive updates, information, and opportunities and will be invited to provide direction and insight on a number of important topics facing the industry.
Topics include: offshore wind mitigation and compensation plans; solar incentives for members of the seafood industry; industry-led innovation in energy-efficient and low-carbon fishing; engaging with Commerce RI on Rhode Island's food system strategy updated; engaging with RIDEM and EC4 on Rhode Island's 2025 Climate Action Strategy; and engaging with NOAA on supports for climate-ready fishing communities.
