With support from the Blue Zones Project Bakersfield, Community Action Partnership of Kern and United Way of Central Eastern California, we are coming together to reestablish a food policy council to support a thriving, resilient food system for our community. Food policy councils provide a structured way for food and farm advocates and organizations to collaboratively advance innovative ideas that support local food and farm entrepreneurs; reliable access to safe, affordable healthy food for everyone; and a dynamic local food culture. The Kern Food Policy Council will be one of dozens across California.
We are recruiting members for the Kern Food Policy Council and invite you to apply. The terms will be staggered from 1 - 3 years. Members will represent a diversity of organizations, sectors of the food system, and geographic areas of our community. It's a very exciting chapter for Kern County!
