Composer-in-Residence Application
Please complete this form to apply for the position of Composer-in-Residence at the Women Composers Festival of Hartford. Applications are accepted year-round, but must be received before January 1st to be considered for the following year, and will be considered for three years (e.g. applications received before January 1st, 2024 will be eligible for the 2025, 2026, and 2027 Festivals).  We urge composers to re-apply after three years if still interested. WCFH accepts applications from all composers who identify as women, including transgender and gender-fluid individuals.

The selected Composer-in-Residence will be contracted to compose a work for the Ensemble-in-Residence (typically 8 to 12 minutes in length, to be completed by January 1st of the Festival year) and give a talk (30 minutes - 1 hour, allowing for questions) in the Scholarly Symposium.  She is expected to attend all Festival events and (optionally) may speak briefly before the premiere of her new work.  The WCFH does not offer a travel stipend.
