For this ideathon, many of our participants will have little to no coding experience. We want them to feel challenged in learning new concepts, but at the same time, have mentors readily available to address their questions. The purpose of this ideathon is to spark interest in computer science for the first time, and mentors are essential in helping the girls learn. Whether it be through answering a coding question, providing stories of your own coding experiences and challenges, or simply judging the projects and providing feedback, participating as a mentor will greatly benefit FemHacks.
