The Gullah Geechee Herbal Gathering Vendor Application
The Gullah Geechee Herbal Gatheirng is inviting vendors to apply for space in our Artisan Marketplace. The 3rd Annual Conference will be held on March 26-27, 2022 at a private residence in our founder's hometown of John's Island, SC. Help us co-create the opportunity for conference participants to purchase items hand-crafted by people from their community and culture.
We are seeking handmade, as local as possible, herbal products and other hand-crafted wares such as baskets, clothing, candles, jewelry, pottery, textiles, preserves and maple syrup. We’d also like to have relaxing, fun services – such as massage, reflexology and henna – available in the Marketplace.
We are seeking food vendors who can offer a diverse menu to provide food for varying diets to include vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and meat options. Food vendors are being asked to vend both days to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner options.
Organizations that are interested in having an informational booth, please contact us for more information.
Everyone onsite, including vendors, must be registered paid participants of the Conference. Registration fees are included in the Vendor Application fees. Upon approval of the vendor application applicants will receive an email with registration instructions.
A vendor tent includes entry for one person to run the table. 2 Additional people/help for vendors are permitted and must register separately for a reduced admittance of $20 per day ( $40 for both days). We are not responsible for lost or stolen items. *Please note that vendor booths, are limited to 1 business per booth.
Vendors may set up their booth on Saturday morning from 8am to 10:00am, or Sunday morning, 8:30am-10:30am. You will be assigned a vendor space. You will receive your assigned space after your application has been approved. We will have volunteers available to help you unload. After unloading, please move your vehicle to the Vendor Parking area. Booths should be open and ready for business by 10:30am on Saturday. Attendees will want to visit the African marketplace while they wait for the conference to begin.
Applications are considered on a first come, first served basis. Our deadline for receiving your application for priority placement is Dec. 15, 2021. We will place additional applicants in remaining spots after that time on a first-come, first-served basis. Marketplace spaces for this special event are $100 each for one day of vending or $150 for both days for non-food vendors and $250 for food vendors for both days, which includes one general registration to the conference and a 10 x 10 booth space.
Marketplace vendors will provide their own tent and equipment – we are sorry we cannot provide tables, chairs, or any additional equipment. No electricity will be provided, we apologize for the inconvience.
*Vending is reserved for Black and Indigenous people and those of Gullah Geechee Heritage.
*All vendor registrations are non-refundable.
Vendor spaces are limited and first priority will be given to local Gullah Geechee artisans. Upon review of the applications as they are received, we will make a decision on who would be a great fit for the conference. We will then send you an acceptance notification. We will need your confirmation no later than 48 hours after your notification. Once your confirmation is accepted, your vendor fee will then be required as soon as possible to reserve your space. You are not considered a vendor until your signed vendor contract and payment has been received. All sales are final. This is a rain or shine event.
