The GENIVI Alliance has a long and productive history of delivering standard interfaces and open source code for in-vehicle infotainment systems and the connected vehicle.

GENIVI has delivered software that has been adopted into production systems of many brands and model years, but the future is still quite daunting as the industry considers current challenges such as vehicle software domain interaction and the future of IVI in autonomous vehicles. These and other topics will be presented and discussed in the upcoming, 18th GENIVI All Member Meeting and Open Community Days scheduled for 17-19 April 2018 in Munich, Germany.

This 2.5 day event will be a blend of business-level content, technical presentations, workshops, and developer education. GENIVI has a strict “no marketing” policy for its program content and proposals with a marketing orientation will be discarded immediately. Instead, GENIVI encourages all marketing efforts to occur during the Member Showcase and Reception on the Wednesday evening of the event.

In this Call for Participation, we welcome proposed content that addresses any of the following topics:

- Industry trends that unlock advancements in IVI and other in-car systems
- Connected vehicle concepts and opportunities
- Topics related to vehicle software domain interaction between safety, IVI, consumer electronics, and connectivity systems
- Connected and autonomous vehicle advances
- Open source software development, testing, license compliance, and project success factors
- Cybersecurity in automotive systems and connectivity
- Industry standards related to in-car IVI and connectivity software
- Big data topics
- Advanced navigation topics
- Radio, content delivery, and entertainment in the vehicle
- Advanced topics like augmented reality, artificial intelligence, machine learning

Content proposals will be reviewed by a cross-discipline (business and technical) program committee established by GENIVI leadership. The following schedule will be used to manage the proposals and finalize the program:

17 November - Call for Participation Opens
19 January - Call for Participation Closes
09 February - Call for Participation Notifications
15 February - Program Schedule Announced

Content proposers should indicate the target audience for their content (e.g., business level, technical presentation, workshop, education). Successful proposals shall include a proposed title, speaker (including title), and a brief abstract of the proposed content. You do not need to be a member of GENIVI to submit a proposal or to speak.

To simplify proposal submission, GENIVI has provided an online form to submit your proposed content.
