🎃 Barnesville Community — We Need Your Input! 👻
For the past two years, we’ve held two separate Halloween events — the traditional Trick-or-Treat and the Barnesville Spooktacular Downtown. We created this change based on your feedback to give families more flexibility, with one event focused on door-to-door fun and the other on big crowds and downtown festivities.
Now, after two years, we want to hear from you! Should we keep both events on separate days, or return to one Halloween night? We’re also open to suggestions for future improvements.
Why the Separate Days?
- Flexibility for Families: We heard from you on Facebook that some families were disappointed with fewer kids going door-to-door when the Trick-or-Treat event and Spooktacular Downtown happened on the same day. We wanted to give you more opportunities to enjoy both traditions.
- Downtown Spooktacular: We know how popular the downtown event is, but also how crowded it can get. That’s part of the reason we chose to separate the events — we want to make it easier for families to enjoy both experiences without the overwhelming crowds.
Why don't we have this on Fridays or Weekends?
- Fridays: We typically avoid Fridays due to possibility of a Shamrock Football game. If the game is home or away, we prefer our Shamrock community to go support the football game instead of having to choose between going Trick-or-Treating or going to the football game.
- Weekends: We try to avoid weekends for safety reasons, as weekends can bring higher traffic and drunk drivers. Our primary concern is ensuring the safety of our children and families as they enjoy the festivities.
We Want Your Opinion!
Should we stick with two separate events next year or return to one?

Poll closes at the end of November — results will be shared with the community.
Thanks for helping us make Halloween in Barnesville great! 🎃👻
