All vendors will give 5% of sales from the market to our "Small Business Spark Fund" at the end of the night... and have a chance to be the randomly chosen recipient of the fund! One winner is randomly chosen from each market.
Since the start, the MN Christmas Market has existed to be a platform for locals to support small businesses. We're stepping that up a notch, with 5% of all sales (concessions, shopping, and guest entry fees) at our events being invested into the "Small Business Spark Fund." At each of our markets, one vendor is randomly chosen at the end of the night to be a recipient of the Small Business Spark Fund (SBSF). The SBSF consists of no-strings attached investments in them and their business in 3 simple ways:
- Return: Their vendor fee for the following year is covered!
- Rest: We cover the cost ($1300) of a 3-night stay in Grand Marais for them to re-charge and take a breather.
- Re-Invest: We cover the cost of some custom merch ($500), consulting ($600) AND a cash prize of more than $5000+.
These small businesses are the heartbeat of our state and communities. We want to use our markets to fill their buckets back up, in more ways than one, and urge them to keep on keeping on!
The MN Christmas Market is hosted by
Twin Cities Print and
StormSister Spatique.
The
application fee is non-refundable and must be submitted at the time of application for your application to be considered. Brands who are accepted into the market, $15 will be credited towards your payment.
Every year we’re asked by shoppers and vendors alike, “How do you choose your vendors?”
A few of the things we look for in vendors are the brands who will help give our guests the very best shopping experience:
Products people love, good energy and customer service, social media engagement, and for returning vendors - sales totals from previous years. Raising money for the Small Business Spark Fund and supporting small businesses is our main mission.
We get hundreds of applicants for our markets each year and inevitably end up having to turn away some that we really love.
