September 16: Peace Lanterns Festival at Gantry Plaza State Park, Volunteer Registration.
Sign up to help HarborLAB provide public paddling and related activities as a centerpiece of our region's largest annual waterfront peace festival, produced in partnership with Buddhist Council of New York, New York State Office for Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation, Interfaith Center of New York, Global Movement for a Culture of Peace, and the Heiwa Peace and Reconciliation Foundation.

The basic program elements HarborLAB volunteers are invited to join are afternoon public paddling, arts (lantern making and decorating, face painting, seedball making) and the ceremony itself.

What is your legal name? If you also use an Anglicized name or nickname, please insert that within quotation marks. For example, a person named Liu Zhi Ruo who goes by Shirley would be Zhi Ruo "Shirley" Liu. *

Because this program involves children and the general public, I consent to my name being checked against the Public Registry of Sex Offenders. *
I understand that volunteers in this event help prepare and carry boats, set up and pack up, and work together as a team, each according to their ability, and will contribute to the effort to the best of my ability. *
I'm able to help Sunday, September 16, 9PM-11PM with the load up and pack away in LIC (at Gantry and nearby HarborLAB). Everyone at the Gantry program should help a bit, but we really need a few folks to help through completion. If not, please consider joining the set up team in the late morning. *
I'm able to help Saturday, September 1, 11AM-4PM with boat repairs at HarborLAB so that we can fully serve the public on September 16
Check the Sept 16 Public Paddling program volunteer positions and shifts you'd like to fill, or "None. I will help with the arts program." If you'd like to work more than one shift, thanks! We recommend that you either work one paddling shift and one arts shift, or take a break and work the 9PM-11PM pack away at HarborLAB *

Repeated for emphasis: Will you help pack away at HarborLAB on Sunday night after the event, from 9PM-11PM? It's important that we not saddle the usual die hards (who'll likely be helping with the set up in the morning too) with this work alone.
