April 18: Mourn the Nakba, Demand Israel Stop the Killings in Gaza
On April 18, join Jewish Voice for Peace-Chicago for a vigil in Downtown Chicago mourning 70 years of ongoing Nakba (Catastrophe) against Palestinians since 1948, and demanding that Israel stop shooting Palestinian protesters in Gaza.

In 1948, five hundred Palestinian villages were destroyed, 800,000 people were displaced into exile and thousands of Palestinians were killed. The past 70 years have seen ongoing dispossession of Palestinians from their homes, repeated bombings on Gaza, systematic military detention of Palestinian children and a litany of other abuses, all of which have extended the devastating impact of 1948.

We will meet at 6:00 pm at a to-be-determined location in Downtown Chicago.
