Please fill out all of the questions below and we will be in touch with you soon to follow up. Volunteers are encouraged to be 16 years old and up but we are also accepting volunteers as young as 13 to be in a Peer Helper role. The first step for all volunteers aged 18+ is to complete a background check which will be emailed to you soon after completing this registration form. Please note... if you have volunteered with us in the past, we only need this updated every 3 years so you might be able to skip this step.
Once approved, we will send you more detailed information and a confirmation email. The confirmation email will also include a link to a video about volunteering with The Special Needs Ministry of Brooks Avenue Church of Christ as well as a Power Point presentation that gives more specific details about volunteering with Special Summer Camp. PLEASE REVIEW THESE MATERIALS ENTIRELY. This will help you be as informed as possible when you arrive on your first day of Camp!
Plan to serve for an entire week to get to know campers better and be more effective in your role. Younger Camp is for campers aged 3-9 and Older Camp is for ages 10 and up. We also have half day (8am-12pm or 12pm-4pm) and full day (8am-4pm) options for both camps but you will notice there are not AM half day options available at this time as those are full. If you are ONLY available in the morning, please sign up for FULL DAY and then let us know this in the comments section. We will talk to the others who are already signed up for the AM slots and see if they are willing to switch with you.
Camp runs for the last week of June, break for the first week of July, then for the nest 4 weeks.1st week (June 24-28) 2nd week (July 8-12) 3rd week (July 15-19) 4th week ( July 22-26) 5th week (July 29-Aug 2)
