Purpose of Committee
The Council shall function in accordance with District regulations. Primary functions of the Council are:
Oversee K-12 curriculum alignment
Monitor student achievement results
Review the District Improvement Plan
Review current trends/issues in curriculum
Process requests for reconsideration of instructional materials
Process proposals for curriculum change
The Curriculum Council is a standing committee comprised of:
2 elementary school teachers
1 elementary school administrator
2 middle school teachers
1 middle school administrator
2 high school teachers
1 high school administrator
1 special education teacher
1 ELL teacher
6 parents (2 elementary school, 2 middle school, & 2 high school) living within the Sioux Falls School District
3 community members
Each member shall serve a two-year renewable term commencing on July 1. The Curriculum Council conducts meetings on a quarterly basis, or as needed.

The Curriculum Services Department will review the applications and select the committee members based upon the above positions and the responses on the completed application.
