By submitting this application form, you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions of the 2016 Gonville & Caius May Ball. All applicants must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom and be over 18 years of age at the time of the Ball. We will ask for proof of eligibility to work and proof of age and will deny employment to anyone We deem ineligible. For the purposes of work at the Ball, the first shift runs from 18:00 on the 14th June 2016 until 00:30 on the 15th June 2016. Workers will be expected to arrive at 17.30 in preparation for their shift. Workers on this shift shall receive free admittance to the second half of the Ball in lieu of payment for their services. The second shift is defined as running from 00.00 on the 15th June 2016, until 05.00 the same day. Workers will be expected to arrive at 23.30 on 14th June 2016 in preparation for their shift. Workers on this shift will be paid for their services with a sum that shall be defined at a later date. Workers will not, by contract, be allowed to attend any other college ball on the night of the 14th of June. Employment at the ball is dependent on attendance at the compulsory briefing session before the ball, and availability for a period not exceeding two hours before the start of the shift. The briefing session will be held at the Cavonius Centre in the Stephen Hawking Building, West Road on Saturday 11th June 2016 at 08.00. The times of the briefing will vary depending upon the role of the worker and will be determined at a later date. Workers must be available for the entire briefing. Workers will not be paid or reimbursed for attendance at these briefings, or for any time spent in the College before the start of their shift. Gonville & Caius May Ball reserves the right to dismiss any worker at any time. This includes ejecting first shift workers from the second half of the Ball. In the event of unsatisfactory performance by workers, Gonville & Caius May Ball may choose to charge a worker an amount up to the cost of one non-dining ticket. All workers will be required to provide, in advance, a cheque or cheques totaling this amount. Uncashed cheques will be destroyed after the Ball. Employment at the May Ball is dependent on agreeing to all future conditions and contracts that Gonville & Caius May Ball asks the worker to sign.
