What is the San Mateo County Pride Center?
The San Mateo County Pride Center is a collaborative of four local non-profit organizations that provides social support, resources and clinical services to LGBTQ+ community members of all ages in the Bay Area Peninsula. The San Mateo County Pride Center is a community center that strives to center, empower and lift up the voices of community members in order to ensure that our community receives the support and services that they need.

What does a San Mateo County Pride Center Youth Advisor do?
As a member of the Youth Advisory Board at the San Mateo County Pride Center you will help plan, organize and publicize youth programming here at the Pride Center. You will provide input on services and resources for youth between the ages of 10 and 18. Youth Advisory Board members help the Pride Center by getting their friends and peers involved, sharing information about upcoming events with friends, peers and teachers at school, as well as bringing input and suggestions from community members to help shape the direction of the Youth Program!

- Able to commit to 1 school-year of service.
- Able to commit at least 2-6 hours a month (including attending two meetings) to the Pride Center.
- Facilitate at least one meeting
- Able to attend at least two events a quarter.
- Willing to speak on a panel about LGBTQ+ youth experiences, if necessary
- Check in meetings with Youth Program Coordinator

Twice a month, on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays for 1 hour from 4:30PM to 5:30PM. Outside meetings to be added as necessary depending on the project. Meeting times may be extended as necessary.

Acceptance is not guaranteed. It does not matter which school you attend – private, public, or homeschool. We are interested in teens from every part of San Mateo County to help make our youth services the best that they can be!
