Dear President Biden, As you are aware, the previous Trump Administration closed the border on the false premise that doing so is necessary to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Under Title 42 and Operation Capio the United States has refused entry to approximately 400,000 immigrants, many of them fleeing for their lives and seeking safety in the only country they believe will help them. I am writing you today to urge you to immediately rescind this policy and instead allow for the orderly and safe processing of cases at our border. This should include requiring a COVID-negative test for entry – including proper quarantining until the results come back – and quarantining anyone who tests positive until they are no longer contagious. We are a developed country perfectly able to establish a safe and orderly border process and I hereby call on you to do so without further delay.
