Sustainable Teacher Awards 2019 Nominations
Do you know a teacher or administrator doing exemplary work integrating sustainable practices into their classroom or school? Nominate them for a Sustainable Teacher Award!

Urban Green Lab, a Nashville-based nonprofit teaches communities how to live sustainable, healthy lives. The goal of the awards is to highlight and support teachers and administrators in the Nashville community who go above and beyond to integrate sustainability into the framework of their schools.

Please submit nominations by June 1, 2019.
Eligibility: All educators and administrators in Nashville can be nominated. Self-nominations accepted and previous nominees are eligible. Winners from the previous year are not eligible.

Award winners will receive:

*$200 to support classroom supplies or projects that further sustainability education around topics involving energy conservation, water preservation, food waste, green transportation, and green building;

*An annual subscription to Learning Lab, USGBC’s online education platform, to aid in curriculum development; and

*Invitation to an award ceremony on July 8, 2019.

Award Categories
School Leadership- School administrators prioritizing sustainable practices in their school by providing options for students to learn and integrate sustainability into their own routines, supporting teachers, or advocating for school-wide green practices and infrastructure.

Project Management- Educators leading projects and programs in their schools or classrooms that are giving students hands-on access to sustainable practices. Examples include school gardens, sustainable living after-school programs, recycling projects, green clubs, etc.

Curriculum Integration- Teachers who are integrating sustainable topics and themes into their curriculum and classroom. This could include an interdisciplinary approach to sustainability and environmental science topics or encouraging everyday sustainable habits and practices within the classroom.
