WHAT: Congresswoman Summer Lee and Pittsburgh Public Schools will welcome U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education Cindy Marten as she makes a “Raise the Bar: Lead the World” visit, spotlighting evidence-based practices – such as community schools and summer learning opportunities - that support conditions to accelerate learning, deliver comprehensive and rigorous education, and boldly improve learning conditions for students. This visit will feature a roundtable discussion on how Pittsburgh Public Schools is raising the bar for its students by addressing crucial educational topics such as chronic absence, summer learning, community schools, and parent engagement. The roundtable will be open press.
